Greetings families!
Students are working so hard on their Civil War Projects and tomorrow they will get a chance to see some Civil War Reenactors! If you can, please consider donating $2 for these wonderful volunteers. Tomorrow is the last chance! Some clarification on the Civil War Projects, students will have some time to work in school on things like their tri-fold and their show what you know, but most of that work will be done at home. Due to where students are in their essays today, I am going to extend the deadline by one day so that we have one more day in school to work on these (I did not announce that to students yet). So the tri-fold and show what you know project will be due on Wednesday, June 1st. There was also a misprint in the printed packet that students brought home, they do not need to include a map and they only need 2 sources instead of 3. I did update that in the digital copy on my website. I know this is a lot at once, so please know that I am happy to support your student however I can! I hope that you all have a wonderful afternoon! Enjoy this beautiful weather! Sincerely, Ms. Petzold

Greetings families!
We are over halfway through our SBAC testing! Students are working really hard and I am so proud of them! Students are also working hard on researching their Civil War topics. Each person has a topic and they are working on finding out the important information about that topic. Next week we are going to start outlining our essays with the research that we have done! If you are curious about the project, there is a "Civil War Project Packet" linked under the Civil War tab of my website, along with resources about the Civil War! On May 25th we have Civil War reenactors coming to our classroom to share information about the Civil War. There is a $2 donation per student that is recommended for this experience. Every child will be able to attend, but if you are able to donate, that would be very helpful for these amazing volunteers. I am starting to get some more information about 5th grade end of the year celebrations, so more on that coming soon! I hope that you all enjoy the sunshine today! Sincerely, Ms. Petzold |
