Greetings families!
Here is the last newsletter of the year! I can’t believe it’s come already! I have a lot of news to share, so I’ll get right to it. Tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday, I will be sending students home with materials, including their tri-fold presentations. I would recommend sending students in with an extra bag to carry things because there are a lot of materials to go! On Thursday, we will be having a 5th Grade Fun Day and celebration. Starting off in the morning, we will have an assembly where 5th graders will get to share their greatest achievements. This will be telecasted live and will also be recorded so if you can’t watch during, you will be able to view it later. The telecast is scheduled to begin at 9:00am and will probably last an hour. I don’t have a link yet, but I will make sure to send it once I have it! After our celebration, we will be walking as a 5th grade to Syzmanski Park to have a picnic lunch and to play some games. Students should have sneakers, a water bottle, and I would recommend some sunscreen. If students are packing a lunch from home, make sure they have everything that they need; students getting a school lunch will have the choice between a turkey or tomato sandwich. We will return to school and have ice cream sundaes before watching a magician give a performance! On Thursday night from 6:00-7:00pm there is an optional drive-through celebration where students will receive a certificate and can say goodbye to the 5th grade team. On Friday, we have a half day, with dismissal beginning at 11:30. Please let me know if there are any changes to pick-up plans on that day! Report cards will also go home with students on Friday. Please let me know by tomorrow morning if your family would like more than one copy for different households. If you have any questions about anything, please let me know! Thank you for such an amazing year, and best of luck as your students enter middle school! I hope that you all have an amazing summer! Sincerely, Ms. Petzold

Hi all!
I hope you are all staying cool in this heat! I thought that when I moved to Vermont from Maryland that I wouldn't experience this anymore...but here we are. This is a reminder that we have an early dismissal on Wednesday, starting at 12:25. Students will eat lunch at school, and the lunch options are a turkey sandwich or a tomato sandwich. We have started giving our Civil War Project presentations and we are already learning a lot! The students put a lot of hard work into these projects and we are having fun learning about each topic! Mrs. MacDonald has also put together some summer library resources for students and parents. If you press the button below, it will take you to a Google Doc full of wonderful information. Summer library will run on Wednesdays 9-12am from June 23rd - Aug 11th. There are lots of prizes for students that read in the summer! If you don't have a printer at home and realize that you want one or more of the forms, please let me know and I can print out a copy for your family. Stay cool! Sincerely, Ms. Petzold Greetings families!
I hope you all enjoyed your three day weekend. I wanted to take a minute to express a thank you for all of our armed forces members who gave their lives for our country. SBAC testing is done! I am so proud of the hard work that our students did over the past two weeks! This Friday, students will be attending a field trip to the Middle School to get a tour. Friday is also the due date for the Civil War Project tri-folds and their Choice project (show what you know). We will be doing class presentations in the last 2 weeks of school. If students finish their projects early, they are welcome to bring them in and they can present Thursday or Friday if they want to get it over with! (They can also just bring the project in, they don't need to present early if they don't want). Next Wednesday, Junen9th, we will be having another early release day, with dismissal starting at 12:25. Please let me know if there are any changes in how your student gets home on that day. Students will have lunch at school, but it will be a cold bagged lunch, most likely Turkey or Tomato sandwiches. Students will also need to let me know by Tuesday if they are ordering lunch for Wednesday in order to give our staff time to prepare! If your student is absent on Tuesday, but is planning on getting a school lunch on Wednesday, please send me an email. If you have any questions about anything, please let me know! Sincerely, Ms. Petzold |
